EDC Hunts Point AOU-2 and Site D Soil remediation – Bronx
AOU-2 and Site D were two Hunts Point soil
remediation projects in which Gallagher Bassett
Technical Services utilized M To-Pros as a
subconsultant. M To-Pros was engaged as the
Project Controls, Communication liaison, and
Project Administrator to coordinate with all the
team members including construction
management team, engineering team, expediter,
special inspections, and contractor. We were also
responsible for recording and circulating meeting
minutes, invoicing for the project, and completing
MWBDE compliance reporting audits for NYC
EDC.
The project was funded by NYCEDC. It was a
former Manufacturing Gas Plant contaminated
with CoalTar and Purifier Waste. In order to
remediate the soil, it was excavated, and the
contaminated waste was sent to a disposal
facility. The remaining waste was ISSd (in-Situ
Stabilized) and a Soil-Bentonite wall was framed
to prevent the contamination from reaching
groundwater.
